Keens Park Rangers Football Club are inviting applications for the position of First Team Manager ahead of the 2025/26 season.
This is an exciting opportunity to manage Guildford’s top amateur football club and be part of a community-focused team with a clear emphasis on player development and progression.
About the Role
The successful candidate will take charge of our First Team, who compete in the MJM Sports Surrey Premier County Football League. We are looking for someone who is organised and eager to work closely with both senior and developing players.
Whilst previous management or coaching experience is preferred, it is not essential. Formal qualifications are also welcomed but not required — the key qualities we’re looking for are commitment, leadership, and a clear understanding of the importance of player development at grassroots level.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a manager who:
-
Has a strong understanding of grassroots football and player development
-
Ideally has previous coaching or management experience (but not essential)
-
Can demonstrate good leadership, communication, and organisational skills
-
Is committed to attending and being actively involved in weekly training sessions (currently held at King’s College School, Guildford)
-
Can manage matchdays (primarily Saturdays, home ground at Pyrford, with away fixtures involving travel up to 45 minutes – 1 hour from Guildford)
-
Understands the importance of the pathway between our Reserve Team and First Team and is willing to work closely with Reserve Team management to develop players
Our Focus on Development
At KPR, we place a strong emphasis on youth development and building for the future. Our Reserve Team plays a key role in providing a clear pathway into the First Team, and we also have strong links with Guildford City Boys & Girls FC, giving further opportunities for local players to step into senior football.
We are looking for a manager who shares this focus and is keen to support the growth and progression of players within the club.
Additional Information
This is a voluntary role, in line with the nature of grassroots football. However, it is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an ambitious, well-established club with a strong community atmosphere and a clear focus on developing players.
