Keens Park Rangers can confirm that First Team Manager, Gary Mitchell, will be stepping down at the end of this season.
After eight seasons with the club, Gary has decided the time is right to take a break from management. He will continue to be involved at KPR, but will be stepping away from his role leading the First Team once the current campaign finishes.
Gary first joined the club in 2017/18, managing the Reserves, before taking over as First Team Manager in 2018/19. Since then, he has overseen one of the most successful periods in the club’s history:
-
2017/18 – Managed the Reserve Team
-
2018/19 onwards – First Team Manager
-
2021/22 – Surrey Intermediate Premier Division Champions
-
2022/23 – Surrey Intermediate Premier Division Champions & Premier Challenge Cup Winners
-
2023/24 – Led the club into the Surrey Premier County League
Throughout his time at KPR, Gary has brought organisation, stability, and a huge amount of commitment to the role. His efforts have helped shape the club both on and off the pitch, guiding the First Team to compete at a consistently high level.
KPR Chairman, Paul Crouch, said:
“Gary’s put a huge amount of time and effort into the club over the years and achieved a lot. We appreciate the work he’s done and it’s great to hear he’ll still be involved at KPR in some capacity. Thankyou Gary!”
Gary will remain in charge until the end of the season, with everyone at the club focused on finishing the campaign strongly. The club will begin looking for a new First Team Manager in the near future.
Everyone at KPR would like to thank Gary for his hard work, commitment, and the huge part he’s played in the club’s success.
